Racial profiling

Arizona(Anti-Immigration state)

  • Arizona's law has gone way too far. In a shorten context it's now the "show me your papers" law is in full effect.
  • Officers are directed to stop a person and ask for legal documentation that they are here legally. The state of Arizona has gone too far just stop a person based on looking Hispanic and demanding legal papers of being legal in the U.S.
  • Should not do this because many of the people they stop are legal and are wasting their time.
Pro-Arizona law
  • Thinks the law S.B. 1070 is good and efficient
  • It takes the unwanted illegal aliens from Arizona in a faster manner.
  • Sees it as not being racially profiled but rather a new step into the stop and search routine police officials do.
  • Not under racial profiling but a new way to get rid of unwanted illegal immigration.
A victory for S.B. 1070
  • Argues that the law S.B.1070 is great
  • It reserves the rights for citizens who belong in America.
  • Should be regulated around the U.S. to get rid of unwanted illegal immigrants.
After reading various articles about the law S.B. 1070 that was passed in Arizona I was really amazed by what both sides had to say. I had to bias aside to read the articles who were with the passing of the laws but the points were not very persuasive. The pro side had one really good point, the law lets the state get rid of unwanted illegal immigrants. I would agree with that point but not all immigrants are necessarily hurting this country, it does make things better if criminals are sent back not hard working immigrants that contribute to the growing economy of the U.S. I still strongly believe that this law is morally wrong, stopping "illegal looking" Hispanic people and asking for legal papers.
