Arizona(Anti-Immigration state)
- Arizona's law has gone way too far. In a shorten context it's now the "show me your papers" law is in full effect.
- Officers are directed to stop a person and ask for legal documentation that they are here legally. The state of Arizona has gone too far just stop a person based on looking Hispanic and demanding legal papers of being legal in the U.S.
- Should not do this because many of the people they stop are legal and are wasting their time.
Pro-Arizona law
- Thinks the law S.B. 1070 is good and efficient
- It takes the unwanted illegal aliens from Arizona in a faster manner.
- Sees it as not being racially profiled but rather a new step into the stop and search routine police officials do.
- Not under racial profiling but a new way to get rid of unwanted illegal immigration.
A victory for S.B. 1070
- Argues that the law S.B.1070 is great
- It reserves the rights for citizens who belong in America.
- Should be regulated around the U.S. to get rid of unwanted illegal immigrants.
After reading various articles about the law S.B. 1070 that was passed in Arizona I was really amazed by what both sides had to say. I had to bias aside to read the articles who were with the passing of the laws but the points were not very persuasive. The pro side had one really good point, the law lets the state get rid of unwanted illegal immigrants. I would agree with that point but not all immigrants are necessarily hurting this country, it does make things better if criminals are sent back not hard working immigrants that contribute to the growing economy of the U.S. I still strongly believe that this law is morally wrong, stopping "illegal looking" Hispanic people and asking for legal papers.

ReplyDelete"it does make things better if criminals are sent back not hard working immigrants" This statement I believe is the strongest of all, I strongly agree with you but I don't think this could ever be possible things are looking very hard and aven hard workers are being send back to their country.

DeleteI forgot to add the point about sending hard working immigrants back home that contribute to our economy, but I completely agree with you also.
DeleteFirstly, I want to say that you have some really good arguments. I am totally agree with you on "not all immigrants are necessarily hurting this country, it does make things better if criminals are sent back not hard working immigrants that contribute to the growing economy of the U.S." Arizona's government should think twice before sending "all" Mexicans back to Mexico.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you too, but the Arizona law targets all immigrants not just Mexicans. The law does lean towards racial profiling against Mexicans though.
DeleteI agree with what you are trying to say Arizona has a closed view on immigrants they think that all immigrants are taking jobs of Americans but most of them do the hard labor jobs for them that the average American wouldn't normally do. You stated your point ery well and provided many facts.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Nobody should be pulled over because they look like an illegal immigrant even if they are. It is unconstitutional and morally wrong. I believe that if America made it easier to get a citizenship; racial profiling would decline and America would just be a better place to live in.
